Streaks of sunlight glistened into Sarah's bedroom in the Gladiours Palace, through the cracks in the stone wall. A ray happened to fall upon the bed of Sarah Greenleaf. An Elf, yes. And also a princess... and a general for the army. But she fit into all of the titles. The green four poster bed was currently the host to a tall brown-haired girl, the youngest of her family. Sarah sat up, and pulled the green curtains back, allowing more sunlight to peek into the bed. She rose, and sat at the foot of her bed, by her black chest, with the words, 'Sarah Greenleaf', engraved upon it in green letters. Lifting the lid quietly, she pulled a silvery dress, and dressed. Then, she exited the room.
It was quite early, as the palace was deserted. Most of the visitors of the palace came earlier, to avoid waiting in line for service from the Royal Family. Yes, that was partly her... and her mother and father. The red flames in the fireplace danced, and sparkled in her brown eyes as she crossed the room. Her footsteps echoed across the cold stone floor, and she made her way to the entrance to the main hall. Pushing the door open, Sarah walked down the long hallway to the entrance hall. Few servants and elves were walking about. Many were probably still dressing or awaking. Before she knew it, the two large oak doors stood in front of her. Her hand grasped the handle, and pulled the door closer to her. When it was open enough, Sarah slid through the door and stepped outside.
A breeze wrapped around her, as her feet found their way down the steps. Her wavy brown hair billowed in the breeze as she walked. It was early spring. The sun was up, but just barely able to be seen through the dense forestry. Only a few people were outside, mostly servants or visitors. Sarah let her dress float behind her as well, well, the train anyway. Letting her feet wander, they took her to a seat in the courtyard of the palace. She took a seat on the bench, and breathed in the outdoor air and the beautiful roses. But then, she heard rustling that intrigued her. Walking deeper inside the courtyard, she found a person. One she didn't know. This was odd, because being royalty, she knew many people.
Wonder who it is? She thought to herself, as she approached the person. "Pardon, but who are you?" She asked the person. They could get along... if Sarah was in a good mood, which at the moment she was. But other times, they could be her worst enemy, even if they would turn out to be a friend. Sarah being Sarah, she ignored royal family business and politics 75% of the time. This being said, you could concur that her parents took care of this. But that would be wrong. He was away as much as she was. They weren't close at all. However, they didn't argue that much. You see, in order to argue with your family, you have to talk to them, and that was one thing she didn't find time to do, no matter how much she wanted to (which wasn't much at all).
